3 Reasons Why Drinking Water is Good for Your Back

The human body is made of up to 60% of water. Water is essential to all life forms. Without water, every living creature will cease to survive. Therefore, consuming water on a regular basis, whether in high-water content foods and/or drinking it from a glass, will ensure that you are well hydrated.
#1: Keeps Your Hydrated
One of the first signs of dehydration is thirst. Chances are, if you are feeling thirsty, and/or your mouth is dry, you are dehydrated. Hydration ensures that all body systems and processes are functioning at its highest level, including regulation of body temperate.
#2: Lubricates the Joints
Synovial fluid contains water and other components, that provide lubrication to the joint. Think of synovial fluid like oil in a car. Like oil in a car, the synovial fluid, allows the joints to move with ease and less friction.
#3: Hydrates the Disc (e.g., Spinal Disc or Intervertebral Disc, IVD)
The spinal discs are made of 80% water. The spinal discs act as a ligament, connecting the bones of the spine (vertebrae). The spinal disc function to offer cushion and support to the spine; creates space for the spinal nerve; and provides multi-direction movement of the spine such as flexion, extension, and rotation. When the disc becomes dehydrated, it becomes weakened resulting in a condition called disc desiccation. Over time it will elastic ability and becomes worn out, leading to degenerative disc disease. The disease of the disc can negatively impact how the movement of the spine.
